George Tzinoudis

Bio

He was born in Katerini in 1980. His parents were literature teachers. He remembers being bored to death at school, loving basketball and worshipping Nikos Galis. During his so-called teen years (16-23) he travelled all over Greece just to scream his lungs out and get in fights for Aris. He managed to enrol in the Sport Academy but he quit halfway through, studied for entry exams all over again and got himself into the Fine Arts School of the University of Ioannina. After he got his degree with “a good grade”, as a song by Loukianos Kilaidonis goes, he went to Madrid for postgraduate studies on Contemporary Plastic Arts at the Fine Arts school of the Complutense University of Madrid. He got another Masters degree in Organization & Administration of Cultural Centers at the Hellenic Open University-something that came up randomly rather than being a personal decision. He wasted a whole year of my life as a lousy infantryman in the Hellenic Army. In choronological order and since he left home at the age of eighteen, he has lived in Komotini, Thessaloniki, Ioannina, Madrid, wherever he got transferred by the army, Katerini, Berlin, Athens and lately in Thessaloniki again. He has worked in a grocery store, a gallery, a bookshop, a painting school, in a State School as a teacher getting an hourly wage and in countless bars. He has been arrested two times. The first was for getting himself in a fight during a football match and the second was during his interactive installation “Speed And Survival” in the streets of Madrid. He practices painting, poetry and boxing. He has participated in seven group exhibitions and presented two solo ones. Some of his poems have been published in literary magazines such as Mandragoras, Paremvasi, Odos Panos and he has never tried his skills in an official boxing match. He is currently working in the Museum of Wine of the Domaine Gerovassiliou, where he runs tours and wine tasting. He also illustrates for SOUL magazine. Other fields of interest include nicely grilled pork kebabs, ice cold beer and curvy women’s legs. While he breaths he doesn’t hopes and he is certainly not ready to die. P.S.: He has the certified capacity to reproduce this entire text in Greek, English and Spanish
